Laura Spinks
Nursery Manager
SEN Co-ordinator
My name is Laura and I live with my husband and sons Eddie and Dexter in Ensbury Park. I have always loved working with children and am passionate about providing them with experiences to enable them to learn and grow as individuals.
I studied Psychology at Southampton Solent University where I completed a module on educational psychology, learning about how children develop and learn. This led me to complete my teacher training and I have been working as qualified teacher for 5 years. I have taught children in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 and have an excellent understanding of working with the Early Years Foundation Stage profile as well as the National Curriculum.
I have also had the opportunity to work with children with Autism in both a school and community setting. Over the four years in this role I was able to support children to access activities within the local area and assist with their independence. I have completed courses on Behaviour Management, Understanding Children With Special Educational Needs and Signalong.
Understanding how children learn and develop has enabled me to realise the need for an environment where children feel secure, relaxed and cared for. That’s why at Treetots we strive to provide a stimulating and safe environment that allows all children to flourish.
Some of the courses I have attended-
Paediatric first aid
